YOUR WORDS

by toni rossetti   Jun 8, 2005

Do you remember (28327), all the poems you wrote to me everyday?
what did you do with those thoughts, did you bury them away?

i read all those words so pretty and sweet,
that all changed when you got back on the street.

i feel sad it makes me so blue,
i often wonder what it does to you.

you promised me so many things,
i fell for all those words, but those words must of had wings.

we did not work out as lots of lovers do,
but i think you owe me respect for what you put me through.

i threw away your pictures, i threw away our past.
but some how i couldn't throw away your words, those will always last.

that's why i left, those words were not true,
you do not speak to a lover the way that you do.

so if we ever give one another glance,
be kind, it might be our last chance.

I'm not saying we are in the wrong place.,
I'm just saying cant you have a smile on your face.

you were not mad the last time we spoke,
do not act like our love was a joke

only we know and that is what matters
but if you hit glass long enough it will shatter.

your love was a fantasy, something that you drew,
but your actions show me that those words were not true.
