Slowly slowly, bit by bit...my dreams have been turned into a million shreds...
Comfort has evaded my dark soul; realization echoes I was hanging on by a thread
All the words of hatred have been locked inside me,
Yet all I seem to feel inside is empty
The innocent dreams woven from precious strands of love
Remain destroyed…my heart still broken
There is no one left here to blame but you...
You led me to believe what we shared was true
The million promises we made together
Were nothing but words uttered in stupor
The power you had over me was indefinable
You used it all against me...and left me crippled
Now I moan over a broken heart
Couldn’t I see I was being foolish right from the start?
I kept coming closer to you; all the while my eyes were conveniently shut
So desperate was I to fall in love, that all of my common sense, my self respect was cut?
Thinking about it my eyes fill with tears,
Tears born out of frustration,
Tears born out of a fear
Coz I know my love for you can never perish
When I still know that how easily from your thoughts, your heart I could be banished
Yet I go on living, believing...Ignorance is Bliss
Just to be with you, just for a night, one last kiss
You know you could give it all to me so easily
Lying to me with words of love spoken so sweetly
My darling, my angel, I pray...do this one last thing for me
Slice a knife through my heart, end this charade...set me free!
