Simple Passion?

by Dorotea©   Jun 12, 2005

Do you, dear poet, recall to mind
Where such passion began its endeavor?
When a restless soul some peace can find
Through pouring out a restless heart.
Or when, whilst roaming
By simple words your mind was love struck?

Have you, dear poet, skimmed through the lost
For a masterpiece worth putting to words?
Writing out each stain at your hearts cost
Scribbling messages to the world
Why, so lavishly
Do you write with the fire inside?

Will you, dear poet, write to be healed
Or shall a legacy of you arise?
To pen and paper your thoughts will yield
As words of wisdom come with care
But I, my dear poet,
Can I not write with simple passion?
