Temptation Wears Red High-Heels

by Stef   Jun 13, 2005

A brewing lie stirs beneath the surface
Of this dangerous truth in high-heeled shoes.
And although around his neck is
His lover’s heart, pure and gold
He follows temptation out the door
And to her vehicle.

In the centre of a well-lit parking lot
He finds her lips in the darkened car
And she speaks ever so softly
But her seductive “take me now”
Hits him harder than
His lover’s “I love you”
Ever has
And ever will.

Stumbling up the stairs
Her smile lights the way to her apartment.
Taking his hand she beckons him into
A dark room, behind a closed door.
His thoughts are deafening as he goes
And enters this room of his blackest desires.

5 am sunlight floods the room as
He awakens beside his gorgeous mistress.
His temptation
Leading him quite astray
Looks so beautiful sleeping among
Her satin, worn out sheets.
Consequences start to glare over his shoulder
As he picks his clothes up off the floor.

A brewing lie stirs beneath the surface
Of his dangerous truth lying naked in her bed.
And around his neck was his lover’s heart
But the chain breaks, and the heart
Falls to the ground, and he does not notice
How precious his loss was
Until he finds it missing.

Relates to another poem of mine called "It's Something You Wanted." Also, that was very good, liek the rest of the ones you wrote.

It was said – never resist temptation: prove all things, hold fast that which is good… George Bernard Shaw said that once upon a time long ago…

Good writing – keep it up bud
