HER HOPES

Today was her big day
She was going to ask him out
she wanted to for so long
now in her mind there was no doubt

she got made-up
straightened her hair
little did he know she wouldn't care

she got to school
saw the guy
took a step forward
and thought she would die

he was holding someone else
she broke down and cried
when he asked what was wrong she had to lie

now she sits alone
regreting it all
she should have known
her hopes would fall
