Descriptive Tears

by RyCooBabe13   Jun 17, 2005

The moving van seemed to hold another thing
That couldn't be brought back through the mail
A wave good-bye was enough for me
And the tears described every last detail

They told how we had been friends since day one
And how our times were beyond precious
We talked about everything and kept secrets
We knew there would be a lot to miss

Things wouldn't be the same again
Because we'd drift without intending to
She'd meet new people and act so differently
She'd no longer be the girl I knew

Best friends have a special bond
That they say can't be broken at all
But we've been friends for so long
That this would be our downfall

We had so many secrets that only we two knew
We shared so many moments that we'd call only ours
These things can't be broken by moving trucks and boxes
We had memories that we'd think about for hours

She looked out of the back window in her car
And she shocked me for a little while
She waved and was crying, but it wasn't that
It was the fact she was donning a smile

I knew what she was thinking, I had so before
But it was she who brought this to my attention
This was a test to see if we were best friends for life
Something not to weaken but to strengthen

So we each were smiling in what seemed a lifetime
But was not but a minute long
We knew we could pass the test as true friends
Because we've always held so strong

The tears were a remembrance
But the smiles were what truly stood out
We've outlasted the test so far
And we never had a doubt
