My King and I

by Hannah Leigh Pate   Jun 17, 2005

Dieing, hiding, sinking below.
Depression taking over all I know.
Living a hopeless existence,
Seeking answers in the distance.
Slowly moving away from all near.
Finally getting cursed by my fear.
Until a seeking hand found my own.
Saving me from being all alone.
Lifting my spirit high above,
Having someone to love.

He is there, to pull me back.
He is there, to end my attack.
He is there, to save my day.
And he is the one I repay,
With all the love I can give.
Giving me reasons to live.

The words to express my heart,
Could never pull us apart.
I want him to always be there,
Leaving is more than I can bare.
Waiting for the next day,
Just to hear him say,
“I love you.” and I gently reply,
“I love you too.” Ah, my King and I.
