Broken

by Pinto Bean Power   Jun 17, 2005

Red eyes shining,
Like the blood in that vein.
The crystal drops falling,
Like leaves catching rain.

Running to that place,
That spot in her mind.
It is full of a darkness,
Only she can find.

Phantom shadows
Swirl among the walls,
Every time they show up,
She's the one that crawls.

The fragile glass,
Cracks and shatters.
A mist of midnight darkness engulfs all,
It becomes a maze of ladders.

Ladders leading to a light,
One that does not exist.
Phantom faces of one time friends,
Laugh like banshees in the mist.

It begins to engulf the sound,
Till all that's left is what was.
The eyesight is long gone,
Grasping the light is her cause.

Then, everything shatters,
Only fragments remained.
All the anger destroyed her,
And could not be contained.

So, Unless by those who have felt it,
There is a grief that cannot be spoken.
It is a pain that cannot be fixed,
By those who have been broken.
