Bullies

by meg   Jun 18, 2005

Once upon a year ago,
She saw herself give in.
Every time she closed her eyes,
She saw what could have been.

She saw herself give into those insults,
And every single one of those lies.
Everything all of those people said,
She believed, and kept playing off her disguise.

She kept on that mask,
Afraid to let anyone see the true her.
She didn't even know herself anymore,
To her, her personality was just a blur.

She didn't know what to do,
She didn't know what to say.
More and more she thought about killing herself,
With each passing day.

She thought, "What did I do to deserve this?"
"Nothing" is the answer she would never get.
But I doubt she wasn't thinking that,
When she pierced her head with that bullet.

When they found her she was in a pool of blood,
Her skin was ghostly white.
This is what happened to her,
On that lone and dark night.

If only those kids had stopped with the teasing,
If only they had stopped spreading lies.
Maybe she would've gotten rid of that mask,
And taken off her disguise.

Maybe she would've told someone,
About her loneliness and depression.
Maybe all you bullies out there,
Need the hard cold way to be taught a lesson.
