This Nightmare **Revised**

How can you survive
Day after day
Living inside of a dream
In which you are so afraid

Cutting and cutting
Just to wake up
Bleeding more and more
Because soon its not enough

What happens
When you finally figure out
That this will never end
No matter how much you shout

Grasping for something
Thats so far away
Just to wake up
And see the light of day

Choking on your dreams
While you're stuck in this nightmare
Walking unknowingly
Deeper into the beasts lair

Deeper down
The razor goes
Until some life
It shows

The crimson red
That shows you are awake
And makes your body
Begin to break

Deeper deeper
The blade kisses
Life is something
Your body misses

With every cut
You seem to fall faster
Red splashing down
Your skin of plaster

Weaker you grow
As a tear rolls down your cheek
And you smile because
The future is no longer bleak

No more nightmares
Where you just cant wake
You've made them stop
For sanity's sake

You close your eyes
Still a smile on your face
And along your arm
You begin to trace

Knowing that now
You'll be able to go to sleep
And for the first time
Not begin to weep
