The Tormenting Dream

by Simon Hayes   Jun 23, 2005

Losing your way in a flowering field
Hiding the shame with a virtual shield.
Pushing the silence to the back of your head
Wishing the day wasn't something you dread.

Taking the future as a red troubled sky
Running forever, away from a lie.
Opening slowly and turning away
Seeking the darkness to perish the day.

Finding the answer, to all that you feel
Knowing the problem, believing what's real.
Seeing the sunlight, the radiant beam
Waking up slowly away from your dream.

Simon - I always like your poems and this one is no exception. I see the sadness in it and understand the pain.
