The Red River

Lead to the dark river
she cries tears of red
they're streaming down her face
as she jumps to her death

slipping slowly underwater
awaiting her love
for he to came to the river
and cried tears of blood

breathing in the water
as he once did to
hoping to see him
and be together again soon

they first met at the river
and they knew they were in love
but his parents didn't approve
so they tried to kill him.. their own son

they told him that he could never see her,
ever again, they told him she was w h o r e,
and that he was to good for her,
but he couldn't stand to hear their cruel words anymore

later that night he wrote her a note
and told her to come to
and meet him at the river
and then she'll soon know what to do

she listened to his words
and lying in their tears of blood
they lay both together
in a place called the red river of lost love
