Beauty of the Night

by Insane Inside And Out   Jun 27, 2005

**I just wrote it at night when I couldn't sleep. It's something different than what I usually write I guess. Not exactly a poem. It's kind of the results of a little writing session I guess. Tell me what you think anyway! LOL**

Moonlight cascades down over the land.
The twinkling of the stars are the
lonely moon's only companions.
Shadows are created from the moonlight
and they hungrily cover and devour the land.
They create twisted shapes and provide
cover for the creatures of the night.
The shadows transform the most friendly
looking tree into a hideous intimidating figure.

A small chill breeze blows, bringing
a slight rustling to the dark landscape.
It continues to blow and brings the
whisperings of the dead and sounds
of nocturnal creatures waking.
Small beady eyes shine brightly
from the shadows and darkness.
Their owners move about freely,
hardly even making a sound.

Creatures of the night begin to show
themselves and their many shapes and sizes.
Some swim, some travel on the ground
or in the trees, and others even take
to the beautiful night sky in flight.

Ah! What a wonderful thing to experience.
To see, touch, hear, to feel inside and out.
Ah! I simply love the beauty of the night.

Hey, that was quite creepy. Loved the terminologies. Despite the fact it doesnt rhyme its really good, it does have rythm despite not having rhyme :)
