Where were you?

by Daniel J   Jun 28, 2005

Walking on a beach at noon,
When everything is really grand,
Two pairs of feet are left in the sand,
But on the stormy nights in life,
Which grow to be ever so rife,
I look upon the beach and find,
Imprints of only mine left behind,
And in the time I need you most,
When all was lost to me,
When all but friendship is to be,
Where on earth were you?
__Where was I you ask me clear,
__Why, I was with you, my dear,
__For it was me who walked upon that beach,
__And it was my imprints upon the sand,
__During those times so harsh and bland,
__In your time of strife,
__And the difficult parts in your life,
__You are not alone, my dear,
__I am always very near,
__For behold, my love,
__It was me who carried you.

There is a poem just like it called "Footprints in the sand" and is a poem about a man and the LORD.
Visit this site and read it: it sounds a lot like yours but your has a more love theme. Nice Work.

Wow. Your choice of words never fails to amaze me. I also liked the two different perspectives.

Where did you get the idea for this poem? I think I may have heard something like it before.
