Final Goodbyes

by Taylor   Jun 29, 2005

It was never like me to try something new
But this year I vowed that's what I would do.
Giving many activities a try is what I did for fun
I never really thought I would meet someone.

I wasn't in love, I didn't think of it that way
But he sure had a way with knowing what to say.
With him I was always having so much fun
He always had a story for each and everyone.

Days went by and we became the best of friends
But there is a point where every friendship ends.
Graduation neared us and he would soon leave
The fact that he would be gone I couldn't believe.

He reached for his diploma and I blew him a kiss
I swore our friendship wouldn't break from this.
The ceremony ended and he threw his cap
Here the audience broke into a loud clap

My hands never moved and it all seemed blurry
The class began to walk away, I began to worry.
Scared that I would never see him when he went
I ran to his arms and took in his scent.

As we hugged I couldn't hold back a grin
As I remembered the times thick and thin.
These memories brought tears to my eyes
Soon it would be time for our final goodbyes.

**For my best friend in the whole world who is going away to college this year. i love you always nick
