Beneath all her joy

When she smiles
everyone thinks, that all is ok
but only one would know
that behind all those smiles
lies a person in defeat
a person who has given up a fight
a person who has lost everything

no one knows that behind her mask of joy
hides a heart full of pain and sorrow
whose heart has been broken
whose soul has been devoured
only one would think to look in her direction

maybe it's because of life bizarres habits
maybe its because life couldn't bring her joy
maybe life just wasn't in her
but if you looked at the way her eyes looked
you would know that she was in pain

and on a painful night
she lies in her bed
choosing her fate
life or death
only she would know how it would all begin or...end

not a soul notice how on a cold night
she had finally really smiled
only one in all the world noticed that for the first time it was not forced or faked
