Rest

by Tom Cheriyan   Jul 4, 2005

Lay your raddled head in my lap,
And rest your weary mind.
Dip your feet in the pool of love,
And leave your worries behind.

Allow me, your tired forehead, to stroke,
And smoothen out the pain.
Rub soothing balm on your fatigued feet,
To take away your strain.

Let me bathe you in waters cool,
Of refreshing love, unconditional,
Wrap you in thousand perfumed petals,
And make this enfeeblement, transitional.

Allow me to take you to a lotus bed,
And lay you on healing sheets of fleece,
Place your body, so aweary,
And tuck you in a duvet of peace.
