Reflected Worlds

by Momentary Relapse   Jul 6, 2005

Here in this world I gaze in fear
Suspiciously thinking of all the lies
A gray darkness enshrouds a soul
But I look up into a bright mirror

In that world the sun is beaming
Flowers blossom in a misty veil
A golden stream a glittering brook
Lights up a serene peaceful world

Back here shadows dance upon me
Lingering on with ice cold fingers
Fearfully I hide in my only haven
My eyes drawn to what I see

Skies of blue and gossamer clouds
A burst of rainbow upon the ground
A twittering sound in the branches
Peaceful the picture perfect world

Despair is all I can see here forever
The shadows embracing me firmly
Refusing to ever release me from torment
And still I must stare into the mirror

Picture perfect, the world echoes inside
Beautiful and not corrupted like here
Kept in tidy neatness so perfect
I frown seeing people there looking in

They seem so happy and carefree
Untainted by what is kept where I am
But how can they be in that world
They are in this one as well

Now I feel confused and helpless
I no longer know what is real
I cannot tell the difference anymore
Lost between two reflected worlds
