Going Underground.

by Foresaken_Tears   Jul 8, 2005

Behind an innocent gaping mouth,
Lies a tunnel of despair,
Where suffocating forces reap,
and dominate the air.
A long line of destruction,
Of insanity and woe,
Buried far beneath us all,
The tears forever flow.

Loved ones - last night did not return,
Close friends ceased to be strong,
The cruelty of our fickle race,
has lingered all too long.
Why is it that a single soul,
Thinks he can choose the hour,
For those who fall like dominoes,
Engulfed in all his "power"?

And surely, it takes cowardice,
To provoke the ticking hand,
That grows a bit more ominous,
With every grain of sand.
How must it feel to watch the seconds,
And know that each could be,
The last that you will remain on earth
Just to go down in history?

I put this unrelenting question,
Which lingers in our eyes,
To anyone with answers,
Who believes they deserved to die.
And with them take the belief,
That Humanity's beauty lives on,
And the answer to all of their prayers,
Is the harsh sound of a bomb.

*This is dedicated to all of those who were injured or lost their fight to stay alive in yesterdays bombings in London. For anyone who is now without a familiar face - my heart goes out to you and for those unable to trace people they love , I wish you all the best.*
