Love

Far past melodramatic obsession, I look at you.
In your eyes, filled with tears I’ll make them go away.
Your wounds, so plentiful, I’ll make them heal.
Inhuman as it sounds, I am for you the martyr.
Could this be? I think it is? Love?

Far past melodramatic obsession, I love you.
Your heart filled with unknowing, just put your trust in me.
Your scars spread so wide, I’ll make them seem unreal.
As you look into my eyes, imagine just a little longer.
Could you be just like me? In love?

Far past some want or desire. I need you.
Both our hands grasping tight. I swear I’ll never leave.
Your eyes, growing red. What was said was said.
I can’t take them back, these words of truth.
Could this be? I think it is? Love?

Now I am standing back, my feet approach the edge.
For you I take this leap of faith. Nevermore I hate.
I hear the screaming but for the better I break this tribute.
What else is there for me to do?
Could this be? I think it is? Love?
