Dedicated to Heather

by Michelle   Jul 12, 2005

Reality hits like a bullet to your chest
When you see what is happening to her
For so long you just said, "oh, it'll wear off"
But now, you just aren't so sure

Mummy please stop doing this, you think
These drugs she's consuming
are making life harder for you too
And you're left here assuming

That it's over and there's nothing
Left for you to do about it
You wonder if you should just end your own life
and forever forget about it

Please don't give up, I beg you
You can get help
If you really need and want it
Help for her and for yourself

I know that it's not over
I know you'll be alright
Just remember that God's there
And you're precious in his sight

If there's something going on and you're helpless
Just pray, for God is forgiving and reassuring
He'll love your mum even if she's high and can't stand
and He'll love you even if you think you're way past enduring

Prayer is the only answer
as far as you've both come
Trust in the power of love and
once in a while, just say "I love you Mum"
