Like the Wolf

by Chelsey   Jul 14, 2005

A starving wolf hunting for food,
like my heart looks for love to fill it's open wound.
tired and hungry- nothing but skin and bone,
like my cold heart that has been left all alone.

Like the wolf who looks for what it can't find,
my heart continues searching for what it has in mind,
Like the wolf who craves for it's food's taste,
My heart craves a love that won't go to waste.

cautious and aware of all that goes on,
like my heart waits for something to go wrong.
alone and going hungrily through the night,
like my heart that won't give up it's fight.

Like the wolf whose always cold and alone,
my heart longs for someone to call it's own,
Like the wolf who wants to catch it's prey,
my heart wonders if there's a love that will stay.

a living skeleton traveling everyday,
like my heart that is always wondering astray.
constantly moving searching for a feeding ground,
as my heart does the same looking for a love to be found.

Like the wolf who was out casted by it's pack,
my heart goes through a world cold and black,
Life the wolf that sits on top a cliff singing it's song,
my heart mournfully longs for somewhere to belong.

howling to the moon in the darkened sky,
my heart does the same screaming it's silent cry.
two different things that are still so much the same,
both searching for something they can't find but long to claim.
