Mommy,where's daddy?

by Avrii Monrielle   Jul 15, 2005

"Mummy, where's daddy?" Little Chelsea said at age four
Her daddy was the man she mostly adored

"Honey he's at war." Mommy whispers really sweet
She tries to comb her daughter's hair and keep it very neat

"Mommy,is daddy back yet?" Chelsea asks a few years later
Chelsea missed her daddy and had turned into a war hater

"Honey he's still fighting,in all the blood and gore." Mommy says slowly, she also hates the war

"Mama,is he back yet?" Chelsea asks at age nine
She has grown into a cute girl who looked very fine

"Daddy isn't here dear,he's fighting still at war.." she looks out at the window expecting to see his car

"Mom,is daddy ever coming home?" Chelsea whispers at thirteen
She still loves her daddy even if she grew up to be a little mean

"Dear, you know we love him,he'll come back you see."

Chelsea waited many years and many more to come
She loved her daddy very much and knows what the war has done

Finally,at 17,she asks her mom one last time

"Mother, where's my father? He's been gone 12 years out of my life. He left his daughter all alone, even his own wife. Why isn't he back yet? I can't remember his face... All I know is he looks like me and I still can't win the race."

"Sweety,I know you're 17 now...you can live on your own soon
You know how to drive, you can survive a monsoon
I'm sorry sweety, your daddy is an MIA,that means missing in action, for so many days... Sweety he loves you, please don't cry...wait a few more years I'm sure he won't die..."

A few years come and they hear a report:Sergeant Peakley is dead,he died at the fort. Please read the will and do not be suprised,he cared about you and defended us in protection from the skies.

Mommy pulls the will out from the envelope, her eyes no longer hold any hope. Her daughter went in the army to find her daddy, now she is dead and found him nationally. Mommy had a daughter and husband, her life was complete-then the war took them and her life isn't so sweet

Remember to love your family when they leave you never know how hard it can be when you... greive....

It started out really good, but then became very forced... particularly the "survive a monsoon" line... but IDK.. its still ok I guess...
