Numb

by jamie ellen   Jul 22, 2005

Pain and dought consumes me
as hate becomes me
all i can do is cry my self to sleep
pray that tomorrow these tears
i will no longer have to weep
i followed you into this darkness
with the faith you would lead me out
but instead you left me cold and alone
with no hope no Friends no home
I'm so scared of what i will become
I'm SO scared
I'm a child
I'm numb

"i followed you into this darkness" this line by itself exposes the reader to so much more than the poem alone implies. Its ideas like this which impress the rare mystery designed with but a few words. Not to harbor on just one line, I only wished to offer you a pat on the back this instant.
The poem as a whole was replete with the emotional imagery and sadness described so well, which I’ve come to expect from you.
    Another write well done.
