One by One

by Idiosyncratic   Jul 22, 2005

One by one
They're chosen
It has begun
Their tears are frozen

One by one
They walk to death
Shivering but confident
They prepare for their last breath

One by one
They fall the last fall
Leaving behind
That fateful call

One by one
Their lives end
Peacefully, with happiness
And sadness from their friends

One by one
They smile together
Grow their wings
Wait for their feathers

One by one
They are released
Delightfully becoming
The recently deceased

And I stand resistant
With my immune life
With my breaths consistent
And not wiling to stop

That was excellent. I loved the flow, the word choice was perfectly dark, and emtions were quite sad. Perfectly written. 5/5
