How It Reminds Me Of You

As you know I got a little kitten a few days ago,
I had a smile on my face for a few days,
Just like I did when I met you.
I'm giving my kitten lots of love and care,
Showing it as much affection as I can give,
Yet somehow it seems to always run away.
I know its a little silly to compare you to a cat,
So it may seem a little odd to some.
But it seems whenever I try to do something right,
Give you my love the best way I know how,
You always seem to run away.
Trying to say the right things to please you,
But you always take them the wrong way.
Planning your gift for our next anniversary,
Just to show you its you whom I really do adore.
But then you seem to run away from me,
Pushing me away.
What am I doing wrong?
