Not Just Another Name in the Paper 6-25-03

by Sunny   Jul 26, 2005

Did you ever think
When you got in that van that day
That you'd never come back?
Did it ever cross your mind
How quickly everything can be ripped away
As the bottom drops out
I read about you
But didn't give it much thought
You're family, but I didn't know you
Then while on-line
Just the other day
I came across a picture
A boy on a little bike
Sporting a Ringmaster shirt and holding a faygo
Living life to the fullest, loving every second
And everything came crashing home
The heavy weight of it all set in
You're not just another name in the newspaper anymore
You're real
And you're gone
Did you ever think
When you got in the van that day
That people you never knew
Would cry over you?
Because you're not just another name in the newspaper,
You're family
