She Is Here To Stay

The sparkle in her eyes has faded away,
Her smile has been replaced,
She no longer acts as if she is ok,
With all the problems she is faced,

She is sick of crying,
Her friends know something is wrong,
Inside she is slowing dying,
But she tries to stay strong,

But hard as she tries,
The pain still remains,
She is sick of the lies,
And the scars on her veins,

She does not want to be like this,
Feeling she is not worth life,
She does not know why she exists,
She never wanted to use the knife,

She tries to cover her fears,
With a smile, so fake,
Tries to hide the tears,
Though she is about to break,

She tries to overcome it,
But depression has won,
She has reached her limit,
And does not want to go on,

But she will keeping on trying,
She will beat it one day,
Though she is dying,
She is here to stay.

But as I watch the tears that she cries,
The thing I now see,
Is that behind those eyes,
That girl is me.
