Winter

by Roulin   Jul 26, 2005

Serenity, painted on white canvas,
what a beauty to behold,
and as I watch looking in,
I can even feel the cold.

Arctic heart frozen inside.
Never to feel,
Never to know.

I walk in the painting picturing,
the falling soft snow,
I see the snowflakes and their designs,
cold hearts on show.

Empty desert bitter and wide,
Never to hear,
Never to see.

A frozen ocean lies before me,
A thousand miles to walk
yet thousands of miles to face
Nothing but ice around to see,
as I walk alone with the chilling winds that chase.

Alone.
Cold.
With a snowflake for a heart.

I will find warmth again someday,
I will find someone who cares.

This is a really sad poem, not too depressing but more reality sad which hits home at the reader.

AAwwww That was beautiful. I love the imagery. The mworld is a cold place once you leave a relationship. But winters go and summers come. Just be patient. Thank you for sharing this. Feel free to read my poem All of Me.
