Lost inside your gray (a shadowed past)

Here i am
a shadow in your past
i grieve, for my soul is lost
it seemed unavoidable, now that i look back at it
i am lost in the gray and am now prey to the spyders
and as life would have it, you walk away
leaving your shadow behind

where am i
a secret forever untold
your greatest feeling is my biggest regret
i have been hurt countless times
yet there are no scars
i have loved in so many ways
yet i have no heart
it has died, and is now lost in the gray

numbing silence
my sorrows decay
as you cast me off into your shadows
a place so warm, yet so excruciatingly cold
before i fade, please look me in the eyes
and let me die with a smile inside

thrown to the wolves
devoured by death
the grave cannot hold me, for i am a part of your shadowed past
a small sliver of gray
takes my life away
as i awake into the death that i have always hoped-
and it is everything i thought it could be

you may arise,
