My Favorite Color (about cutting)

I bet you can't guess my favorite color,
It can be bright or it can be duller.

It makes me calm and cool,
It can be seen with a simple, sharp tool.

It stains my tourniquet,
No matter what I won't quit.

But if I don't I might end up dead,
If you hadn't guessed it, my favorite color is red.
