I remember when you said
we would play day and night
but that day never came
and every other was just the same

fish could fly real high
and we'd see one soar across the sky
we never did see that fish
or the streaks he left behind

that one day we'd turn and cry
we'd ponder on by each sigh
i helt back my fright
i knew this time you were right

i remember when you said
with tear rimmed eyes
and soft whimpering sighs
that our day has come
the day we say good-bye....
