Full Circle

by Garrison   Jul 28, 2005

There are many things in life
That we hope will always be there
The love, life and smile
Of someone who will care

Then life threw me a curve
And my plans sent awry
My days were now empty
The nights, I just would cry

I tried my best to stand again
Though the weight seemed too much
With friend’s and family’s help
Loving me with their touch

But still there is an emptiness
Of the one that used to be
The one I used to live for
The one I longed to see

So now the struggle starts
Of finding a new life
To learn how to trust again
Betrayed by my ex-wife

Months and months go by
As I tried again to find
What once was whole for me
Is more than halved this time

Then one amazing day
She sailed into my sea
As suddenly as a bolt of light
Was her hug for me

Time stands still for us
Every moment spent
I am completely grateful
For her care that she had lent

What is happening to me?
My heart is filled once more
With more than what I felt
For the woman from before

I never thought that I’d find love
From an unexpected place
She makes me feel so manly
And loves me with her grace

She understands completely
Where it is I come from
And if only people knew
Too incredible for some

That this new woman here
Shares a closer tie than any
To what has happened to me
That has happened to so many

So life has come full circle
And now I know I’m ready
I can see a whole new future
And she will keep me steady

For Fay
