Some Things Never Change

by Minkus   Jul 29, 2005

This was originally written to be a song, but I've never really found a suiting tune.

I remember that time long ago
I was standing in the afterglow
You had left me there, alone, afraid
Acting like I had a price to pay

Some things stay the same,
A hunger for pain,
A thirst to cause shame,
Some things never change.

And now sometimes I look back and think
That things would've been good if I hadn't blinked
You wouldn't have had the choice to run,
The chance to go and 'have some fun.'

Some things stay the same,
A hunger for pain,
A thirst to cause shame,
Some things never change.

Now I've moved on, and left you behind
I'm much better off without you on my mind
Because I know now that you're still hungry for pain,
I've learned my lesson, and some things never change.

Some things stay the same,
A hunger for pain,
A thirst to cause shame,
Some things never change,
You'll stay the same,
You'll hunger for pain,
You'll thirst to cause shame,
You'll never change.

I like this a lot. It would sound awesome as a Rock N Roll song, of course I say that being partial to Rock...Good job as are all the others of yours I have read so far. Keep up the good work!
