Four friends, Four Girls (Part 1 of 2)

by Suchapoetictradgedy   Aug 1, 2005

Sitting in the din of silence,
Waiting for the silence to break.
We sit here together, 4 friends, 4 girls
Teetering on the edge of death.
We are contemplating the best way to end it.
Forever we will be together,
This we have promised.
We linger in the silence only a little longer.
Then it comes to us, all of us at once.
As if we share the same brain waves.
Suicide is our answer, the only way
To escape it all.
We each have our own reasons.
Each one to her own.
The stares and the pain haunt us,
And forever linger.
The girls sitting here,
The other lost souls,
Each one thinking of her own reasons;
Silently screaming.
Life is no longer worth the pain,
And no longer worth all of the tears.
We remember walking down the halls
Wearing the snickers of our peers.
Holding back the tears.
Feeling the stares trying to penetrate
Our hard exteriors.
Trying to crack us, to make us
Human to the crowds of monsters,
In the halls.
Feeding off our misery and pain,
The monsters try to break us,
But they can't.
We try to convince ourselves, that we are better, that we are more than this wretched world and its dark, evil stares, and snickers.
This is our resolve, to end it all and be free of the tears and pain, and the burdens of it all.
