Empty Sight

by Michael   Aug 1, 2005

I can see a color,
but I can’t seem to define it,
the reason is that I’m blind.

At birth I saw darkness,
but never knew what colors was,
how people looked,
or how the world was.

People interpreted at what I saw,
but it was no use to me,
for how evil the world may be,
I just wish to see.

Losing a sense,
is no laughing matter,
I could just wisp my life away,
but can’t find the knife’s handle.

I cry,
and I wish to drown,
the ocean I created with these empty tears.

I feel I have no eyes,
I never had any friends,
I can’t define beautiful,
gorgeous,
ugly,
all these words are nothing to me.

I can’t tell who’s who,
or where is where,
for the eyes are made with the color of white,
whatever that is...

Technology has betrayed me,
God has forsaken me,
everyone denies me,
for alas,
without my eyes,
I can never tell what was good or evil.

I must need someone’s help,
when life goes on,
but wishing to die,
what is my heaven.

I might not see my heaven,
not even my hell,
I will not see my carriage from the heavens,
nor the elevator to the underworld.

Darkness;
its starring right at me,
but why I can’t see it,
tis a curse that I have been bestowed upon.

No people,
no animals,
no objects,
nor color,
just sound...
welcome to my world...

You've written some really powerful poems.

The title to this one sceams out to be read.. Nicely written with image and colour..
