It's Your Turn This Time

by Danielle   Aug 1, 2005

Do you see this weight?
Because it’s hanging by a thread
It’s ripping and tearing slowly
By all the things you’ve said

Friends don’t do these kinds of things
They always show they care
I’m learning you’re not like this
And you’ll never be there

Every time I call you up
You tell me you’re trying
But I don’t believe you
Through those teeth you’re lying

I tell you to call me back
A few days later you tell me you forgot
It’s so careless and it really hurts
Because I’m giving it all I’ve got

You never show up
And you always seem to be busy
It’s fake and you know it
I’m not stupid, you see

I know what you’re doing
By pushing me away
And you obviously don’t care
Because you did it again today

You don’t act like you used to
I’ve even tried to change your mind
You just tell me to let it go, chill out
And give everything time to unwind

But I’m tired of all this
It’s tearing me apart
I thought you’d realize
That this friendship can’t just restart

I can’t keep doing this
I don’t know you anymore
We don’t talk or see each other
It’s nothing like before

Just take your time
And maybe then you’ll see
That it’s going to be too late
And I might not be waiting
