My Tormentor

by Daniel Solomon   Aug 4, 2005

Take the pain away from my mind and body.
And let me rest.
You’re the reason I keep failing.
There’s no reason to do my best.
I stumble, collapse, and I crawl.
Struggling with the pain inside.
Feeling the impact when I fall.
Adding more pain to the outside.
I strive to learn.
Try to succeed.
Knowledge is what I yearn.
I hope my anger doesn’t get the best of me.
As the power surges through my head.
It makes me feel better.
So much power and yet….
The weak just keep getting sadder.
I’ve lived. I’ve learned. Sacrificed my mentor.
Taking hold of the power that destroyed my tormentor.
