Your splendour and your beauty cannot be denied
Your hidden treasures have been found by those who’ve tried
Your great glories overshadow the harshness that lies beneath
For only the strong and enduring survive - is my belief.

I emulate your willingness to work hard to survive
Every new day I thank God that I’m alive
The struggle to survive each and every new trial
Is harder than it’s ever been - well at least for a while

When all seems lost and too hard to bear
I’ll look to the tall gum trees when all life seems unfair
I’ll remember nothing ever comes to those who don’t try
That it’s worth another go if you want to live not die.
