Untitled

by Ten Feet Tall   Aug 6, 2005

Tonight I close my eyes
And this is what I see
A beautiful portrait painted
Of you and of me

I see your arms wrapped around me
A giggly grin on my face
Caught in mid-dance
This warm and sweet embrace

I can almost hear the music
As we swayed side-to-side
Remembering the darkness
The laughter and the ride

I wore a dress, my hair in curls
And you in black and white
I wish this were the way I remembered
That fun then horrific night

Instead I remember flashing lights
The bending of cold steel
Crying silently in the darkness
Seeing you slumped behind the wheel
