What will the poet do then

by NICKOLAS ELGERT   Aug 7, 2005

Sometimes a poem is written with love to send
Feelings expressed on paper and given to a friend

Sometimes a poem is written with words to hurt
Alot of poems I write are this way
Because th person the poem is about made them feel like dirt

They say that words don't hurt
But I say the pen is mightier than sword
Sometimes a poem is written because the poet is bored

So they write a poem to waste time
And spend it all thinking of a rhyme
A poet must remember how it began
So it is not a shock in the end

When they run out of things to say
That day will happen but when
What will the poet do then
