Self Harm

by Rachele   Aug 9, 2005

*This is a song I wrote.*

Verse 1:
When that girl ate, she felt like a failure. Thought she was the biggest person on earth, not knowing she was one of the more beautiful. When people saw her, they would laugh and call her names. After a year of starving, and she still wasn't full of shame.

Chorus:
Self harm takes the lives of thousands all over the world. It's a vicious cycle that has everybody in a whirl. It'll leave mental scars in a person's life. Boy or girl, it doesn't matter who's full of strife.

Verse 2:
When they'd burn themselves, it would bring instant relief. They didn't care about the marks it would leave. A hot tea kettle could do a whole lot of damage. But it wouldn't matter, cause they'd all manage.

Chorus

Verse 3:
When they saw the blood form their body, they finally felt alive. Most of them kept it a secret cause they were ashamed of what they did. When they cut, they felt numb, and free from all the pain. It's such a relief from the previous state they were in.

Chorus

Bridge:
People will laugh, and people will judge. But all that matters is how you take it. It's all part of the game, that the self harm brings.

Ending:
Boy or girl, it doesn't matter who's full of strife.

*Anybody who laughs and judges people who self harm, aren't fair. We're people too, who just have a different way of coping with life's problems.*

Again, very well. It brings many sad memories in many ways about my own life. I am doing the best I can, but at times, I feel like people just don't give a sh** or want to help... We may self-hard, but what they are is SELF-ISH.... Nothing, but greedy...
