From a Granddaughters Heart...

by ~*~MoNiQuE~*~   Aug 13, 2005

It’s a special ladies 75th birthday,
I was in need to give her something from the heart,
I decided to keep the money and forget the bouquet.
So I poured out my thoughts and created art!

She gave birth to my gorgeous mother,
Finally she put the icing on the cake,
With a baby like her, who needed another?
A lady like this never made a mistake.

And now I can proudly proclaim,
That I’m that babies strong-minded child,
And for that, grandma is all to blame,
As she herself was once young and wild.

She is blessed with admirable traits,
That make her an individual; different from all the rest.
So full of life, for a dull person she never waits.
Dancing, singing; bursting with everlasting zest!

Although her days have brought a touch of grey,
And maybe the odd wrinkle here and there,
But it hasn’t changed her spirit to play,
Or hidden her artistic flare.

The ocean is her comfort zone,
Always has been and always will be,
A place where she can relax, being happy alone.
Nothing can soothe her like the ripples of the sea.

But life has dealt her a problem or two,
Concerns she can’t just simply ignore,
Learning the hard way of things she never knew,
Like her soldier that battled through the war.

So in your 75th year of living,
I want you to know that you’re someone unique.
At this moment life is still kindly giving,
So keep that twinkle in your eye and glow upon your cheek.
