I Love You, Goodbye

by CinnamonTwirl   Aug 16, 2005

My soul lit up at the sound of your name
Together forever, and you felt the same
But beneath it all, you knew something was wrong
Blinded, I should have seen all along

I love you, goodbye, in a sentence the same
At the moment, past loves is what we became
No attempts to resolve, no discussions lately
For waiting in the wings was another lady

I did not try, to convince you to stay
Cause if you wanted, it'd been that way
Hurt to my heart, tried to move on quickly
Gone are the days, that you were with me

(8-15-05) I wrote this about my ex boyfriend dre...granted we broke up in may...but i just got around to writin about it.

The best thing about your style is a lot of these are short but i feel like i've read a two page poem. weird huh.

No attempts to resolve, no discussions lately
For waiting in the wings was another lady

i liked that part the most, i know im young but ive been left for another girl so i dunno if im just immature or what not but it's neat that you can handle this and you kind of seem like oh well it's too bad but now im over it, it took me like a whole month of crying and being a baby to get over it when it happened to me anways though lol you didn't need to know that, this was great tho everything in all of your poems make sense and they flow and when you rhyme you rhyme well. 5/5

Hey nice poem, I particularly like the line "I love you, goodbye, in a sentence the same" It seems kind of .. ironic to be in the same sentence. It also flowed nicely, nice work. 4/5.
