Cradle of Red

by Momentary Relapse   Aug 19, 2005

Dripping from the pale fingers
Pooling on the pure white tile
Agony rents the pitiless soul
Pale moonlight on flesh rests awhile

Faceless shadows prance around
Dancing as they come near
Caressing fingers glide across flesh
With their gaping mouths they sneer

Marble stained a dark color
The drips a count of time
Falling into the spreading pool
A glint of light makes it shine

A mask of horror mars the features
Mouth tormented in the shock of surprise
Hair flows away from the face
A gleam of disbelief left in the eyes

Resting in that tortured position
Lays the bane of life iwth a twist
Layered in the feel of red
The tiny hand clenched into a fist

Satin covers the lithe figure
A wail erupts from the lips of one
Ignored forever the cries that pour
Others will now forever shun
