Mother

by Mikie Taylor   Aug 21, 2005

What will it take for Gods hands to free us,
And hold us dearly in his heart,
The time of life that stands between us,
Nearly tears me apart,
In many ways I've counted down the days,
To the time I will depart,
So I pray to gaze through the haze,
But I'm left in the dark,
Now I feel your pain,
When once I didn't,
Thought life was a game,
Found out it isn't,
Even though I never apologized,
For all of my actions,
I could see it in your eyes,
You still had satisfaction,
You were the entire supply of fuel to my fire,
The match that lit my innermost desires,
The spark that would ignite the fight inside,
The whole reason for my pride, my guide,
Who someday I will walk beside,
O' how I cried the day you died.
