Thought it was the flu, now your gone forever :(

by Amanda   Aug 23, 2005

I remember the last day I saw you,
the last day I talked to you.
You said you were sick with the flu,
I knew you would be OK.
You wrote me and said, "thanks for the card and I will talk to soon."
Those were the last words ever.
Got the call saying you were dying.
From what no one knew.
You died that morning from colon cancer.
You yourself didn't know about it.
It was a shock.
It was sudden.
It hit me like a knife in my chest.
I lost a part of me.
Now all I have left are the memories.
I should have said how much you meant to me.
Now I never have the chance.
You weren't supposed to leave.
You were only supposed to have the flu.
Now you are gone forever.
I miss you so much.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MR. HICKEY
