Threat

by Julia   Aug 23, 2005

Day by day,
We reside with one thought;
One warming worry;
As we slowly rot.

We ache, its true;
As one day you will too;
Life could only be better,
If I were more like you...

So one thought comes to mind
At the end of our wait;
One horrible truth:
We refuse to relate.

To who? you might ask
Or how? might you say;
For the truth is unwanted:
As we all are the same.

And aching inside,
Are those same synic words,
Letting darkness reside,
Into emptiness, envy.

"Envy"...
Its devourers us slowly
With wish and regret
And it whirls in our minds
Like an ongoing threat

Could we ever remember
Or will we always forget
What once made us humans
Before man made the jet.
