The greatest of the animals

by mistake   Aug 25, 2005

Eye of an eagle
tongue of a snake
you better beware
of what it can take

it has such beauty
moves so smooth
but beware it has
razor sharp tooths

it can be docile
but sometimes vicious
to get on its bad side
no one wishes

but it looks so enchanting
and is heaven to touch
if you can befriend it
it'll love you so much

but remember my warning
its temper is short
it can turn at any time
in a countdown of one to nought

I've studied this creature
for a good part of my life
and its been angry with me
once or twice

all i know is that
its a gift to man
but there is only one
in all the land

its amazing
to have this thing here
and her name is Amy rathbone
and she's filled my heart with tears
