Keep The Angels Waiting

by Jaime   Aug 26, 2005

Up so high on the tightrope of life,
You're my prime inspiration.
Who knew that we could get so far,
With one-sided communication?

The angels wait to catch you,
They think you're almost as far as you can go,
But the heavenly powers have underestimated you:
Only I can see what they don't know.

Several times you lose your footing,
I close my eyes; scared I've lost it all,
When I hear no crash I open them,
To see you have still yet to fall.

Something deep inside you,
Needs to prove that you are strong.
The angels sit there waiting patiently,
Yet again you prove them wrong.

Nobody thought we'd be so close.
At one point I thought they were right,
But now as you are stumbling,
It's me who's holding on to you tight.

Most never will understand.
Who am I, to think they would?
Without a word you taught me more,
Than any book ever could.

The ropes get thinner as we go forward.
They are beginning to steadily rise higher.
I can't help but cringe as I notice,
You are beginning to tire.

We met only a short while ago,
But still enough time for me to see,
You need to keep the angels waiting,
And stay up on this rope with me.

Note: Lots of hidden messages, I don't quite expect everyone to understand all of them.
